4 Day Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda, Mt. Nyiragongo Hiking in Democratic Republic of Congo
Mt. Nyiragongo is an active volcano in Democratic republic of Congo. The 4 day Congo gorilla trekking safari that offers a great opportunity to see gorillas in the jungles of Volcanoes or Virunga national park, and then adventurous trekking to Nyiragongo volcanic mountain in Democratic Republic of Congo. This is one of the most interesting adventure tour packages in East Africa, offered by African Jungle Adventures Ltd.
Day 1: Travel from Kigali to Volcano National Park
In the morning, you will be picked from the hotel in Kigali and proceed for a city tour to Genocide Memorial museum, later transfer to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri. In the evening, we can go for a nature walk to beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / La Bambou Gorilla Lodge / Kinigi Guest House.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Volcanoes National Park
In the morning, you will have briefing at the headquarters before setting off for the adorable gorilla trek in the virunga hills in the rain forest. Packed food will be carried, as lunch can only be self provided, since trekking may take 3 to 6 hours depending on the availability of the gorillas due to their movements in their natural environment. Then retreat to you hotel for late lunch, then organize to transfer to Gisenyi near DR Congo boarder, have briefing and dinner with our Guide for Nyiragongo. Overnight at Kivu Serena Hotel / Stipp Hotel / Paradise Marahide Hotel.
Day 3: Nyiragongo Hiking Adventure
At 8 oclock, after breakfast, meet and Have introduction on the activities of this day. Then transfer to Kibati park station. After a briefing with park rangers, start Hiking Nyiragongo volcano (climb takes about 4 to 5 hours). Hike through an impressive rain forest, the climb continues on the lava eruption fissure until 2002, reach the summit. This tour will give you a great opportunity to explore the giant crater of Nyiragongo above its violently red Lava Lake and learn more about Nyiragongo story. Overnight in shelter at the summit.
Day 4: Descend from Nyiragongo – Goma Sightseeing Tours
After breakfast, Descend down from Nyiragongo, meet our driver to Kibati then go for Goma Sightseeing Tours which gives you an insight of the 2002 eruption that destroyed a large part of Goma town. Visit Local market; and later proceed to Kigali city where the tour Ends.
